Installation Procedure

  1. Position the I/P upper trim pad to the instrument panel.

    Install the I/P insulator retainers near the glass to the upper trim pad.

  2. Install the remote keyless entry module. Refer to Remote Control Door Lock Receiver Replacement in Keyless Entry.
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the I/P upper trim pad screws.

    Tighten: 

    • Tighten the horizontal screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
    • Tighten the vertical screws to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  4. Position the defroster grille to the upper I/P. Connect the DRL sensor to the defroster grille. Ensure that the DRL sensor wiring harness is not pinched when you install the defroster grille.
  5. Starting at the left side, install the retainers to the defroster grille. Continue working to the right side until all of the retainers are installed.

  6. Install the garnish moldings to the right and the left windshield pillar. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar (Impala) or Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar (Monte Carlo) in Interior Trim.
  7. Install the I/P right upper trim panel. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Upper .
  8. Install the I/P cluster trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Bezel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Cluster (Impala)  or Trim Plate Bezel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Cluster (Monte Carlo) .
