2	Verify that the compass is inaccurate or CAL or C is displayed. Does the system operate normally?	Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems	Go to Step 3
3	Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. Is the compass display blank?	Go to Step 7	Go to Step 4
4	Is CAL displayed?	Go to Step 5	Go to Step 6
5	Perform the compass calibration procedure. Refer to Electronic Compass Calibration . Does the compass operate properly?	Go to Step 8	Go to Step 6
