Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Install NEW seals onto the servo pistons and the servo cover.

  3. Install the 2-4 servo.
  4. Install the J 29714-A  . See Special Tools and Equipment .

  6. Tighten the bolt onJ 29714-A  in order to compress the servo cover. See Special Tools and Equipment .
  7. Install the servo cover ring.
  8. Remove the J 29714-A  . See Special Tools and Equipment .
  9. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  10. Install the oil pan bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 11 N.m (97 lb in).

  12. Install the heat shield and bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

  13. Install the exhaust pipe. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Pipe Replacement (6.0L and 8.1L Engines) in Engine Exhaust.
  14. Fill the transmission to the proper level with DEXRON® III transmission fluid. Refer to Transmission Fluid Checking Procedure .
