Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Disconnect the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer.
    NOTE: Refer to Heated Oxygen and Oxygen Sensor Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Remove the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) connector clip from the frame.
  4. If equipped with a 4.8L or 5.3L engine, disconnect the HO2S electrical connector.

  6. If equipped with a 6.0L engine, disconnect the HO2S electrical connector.

    NOTE: Refer to Excessive Force and Oxygen Sensor Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  8. Remove the HO2S.
