Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
IMPORTANT: Clean all the fuel and evaporative emission (EVAP) pipe connections and surrounding areas before disconnecting the pipes in order to avoid possible fuel/EVAP system contamination.

  1. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement (Single Tank)  or Fuel Tank Replacement (Single Tank w/5.3L (L59) Engine)  or Fuel Tank Replacement (Dual Tanks - Front)  or Fuel Tank Replacement (Dual Tanks - Rear) .
  2. Disconnect and remove the EVAP pipe (1) from the roll over valve (3), sending unit (2) and retaining clips (6).
  3. Cap the sending unit, fuel tank roll over valve in order to prevent possible EVAP system contamination.
