Brake System Noise

  1. If you were sent here from SYMPTOMS - HYDRAULIC BRAKE  , go to next step. If you were not sent here from SYMPTOMS - HYDRAULIC BRAKE  , see DIAGNOSTIC STARTING POINT - HYDRAULIC BRAKES  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  2. Inspect the disc brake system for proper operation. See DISC BRAKE SYSTEM TESTING  under SYSTEM TESTING. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  7 . If not, go to next step.
  3. Inspect the drum brake system for proper operation. See DRUM BRAKE SYSTEM TESTING  under SYSTEM TESTING. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  7 . If not, go to next step.
  4. Inspect the brake assist system for proper operation. See BRAKE ASSIST SYSTEM TESTING  under SYSTEM TESTING. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  7 . If not, go to next step.
  5. Inspect the hydraulic brake system for proper operation. See HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM TESTING  under SYSTEM TESTING. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  7 . If not, go to next step.
  6. Inspect the park brake system for proper operation. See PARK BRAKE SYSTEM TESTING  under SYSTEM TESTING. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to next step. If not, go to DIAGNOSTIC STARTING POINT - HYDRAULIC BRAKES  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  7. Road test the vehicle in order to confirm proper operation. See HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM ROAD TEST  under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Is the condition still present? If so, go to step  2 . If not, system is okay.
