Brake Pulsation

  1. If you were sent here from SYMPTOMS - HYDRAULIC BRAKE  , go to next step. If you were not sent here from SYMPTOMS - HYDRAULIC BRAKE  , see DIAGNOSTIC STARTING POINT - HYDRAULIC BRAKES  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
    2. NOTE: Suspension components that are not operating properly may cause a disturbance to the vehicle during application of the brake system.
  2. Inspect the suspension system for proper operation. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  7 . If not, go to next step.
    3. NOTE: Anti-lock brake system operation could produce feedback through the brake pedal during application of the brake system.
  3. Inspect the anti-lock brake system for proper operation. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  7 . If not, go to next step.
  4. Inspect the disc brake system for proper operation. See DISC BRAKE SYSTEM TESTING  under SYSTEM TESTING. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  7 . If not, go to next step.
  5. Inspect the drum brake system for proper operation. See DRUM BRAKE SYSTEM TESTING  under SYSTEM TESTING. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  7 . If not, go to next step.
  6. Inspect the hydraulic brake system for proper operation. See HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM TESTING  under SYSTEM TESTING. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to next step. If not, go to DIAGNOSTIC STARTING POINT - HYDRAULIC BRAKES  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  7. Road test the vehicle in order to confirm proper operation. See HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM ROAD TEST  under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Is the condition still present? If so, go to step  2 . If not, system is okay.
