Park Brake Lever Assembly: Installation

NOTE: The equalizer must be within 15 degrees of perpendicular to the park brake lever cable.
  1. Install the equalizer to the park brake cable. Secure with the pin. See Figure .
  2. Install the park brake lever to the equalizer. See Figure . Tighten 3 park brake lever bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Install the park brake cable lock nut. See Figure .
  3. Connect the park brake switch connector. Adjust the park brake system. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment  in PARK BRAKE SYSTEM under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTIONS. Position the console over the shift knob. If the vehicle has an auxiliary power outlet, connect the auxiliary power outlet connector. If the vehicle has an automatic transmission, connect the power mode selector switch connector.
  4. Install the console. Secure with 4 screws (1,3,4,6) and 2 clips (2,5). See Figure .
