Load Sensing Proportioning Valve: Installation
- Apply multi-purpose grease to the upper pivot point and the lower pivot point of the spring. See Fig 1 .
- Install the Load Sensing Proportioning Valve (LSPV) spring and the LSPV stay to the lever of the LSPV assembly. See Figure . Install the LSPV assembly to the vehicle body.
- Install and tighten the LSPV assembly bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install and tighten the LSPV stay bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the brake pipes to the LSPV. Tighten to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Lower the vehicle. Fill the brake fluid reservoir. See MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR FILLING under BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM.
- Bleed the air from the hydraulic brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
- Place vehicle on a level floor. Verify the vehicle trim height is correct. See appropriate WHEEL ALIGNMENT article.
- Push up the LSPV lever with your finger until the lever stops. Measure the length of the coil spring. See Fig 2

Application In. (mm) Lever Measurement 4.06 (103) - If necessary, adjust the spring by changing the position of the stay. Tighten to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Inspect the LSPV body and the brake pipe joints. Verify that these components are free from fluid leakage.
