Disc Brake Calipers: Installation

  1. Install the caliper to the caliper bracket. Secure with 2 caliper guide pin bolts and tighten to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  2. Install the brake hose to the caliper. Install the 2 washers and the brake hose fittings and tighten to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Tighten wheel lug nuts to specification. Lower the vehicle.
  4. Fill the master cylinder reservoir. See MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR FILLING  under BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM.
  5. CAUTION: If any brake component is repaired or replaced such that air is allowed to enter the brake system, the entire bleeding procedure MUST be followed. Unapproved or partial bleeding can allow air to remain in the brake system. This could result in reduced braking performance and possible personal injury.
  6. Bleed the brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM  .
