Removal (Automatic Transmission)

  1. Disconnect the stoplight switch. See Fig 1 . Remove the brake pedal push rod clevis pin retainer. Remove the brake pedal push rod clevis pin.
  2. Remove the nut from the brake pedal pivot pin bolt. Remove the brake pedal pivot pin bolt from the brake pedal bracket. See Fig 1 .
  3. Remove the brake pedal from the bracket. Remove the return spring from the brake pedal. Remove the bushings and the spacer from the brake pedal. See Fig 1 .
  4. Inspect parts for wear or damage. See BRAKE PEDAL INSPECTION  under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTIONS.
