Brake Rotor Assembled Lateral RUNOUT (LRO) Correction
NOTE:
Brake rotor thickness variation greater than the specification can cause brake pulsation.
- Measure the brake rotor thickness variation. See BRAKE ROTOR THICKNESS VARIATION .
- Measure the brake rotor lateral runout. See BRAKE ROTOR ASSEMBLED LATERAL RUNOUT (LRO) MEASUREMENT .
- If the lateral runout exceeds the specification by less than 0.005 in. (0.127 mm), index the rotor in order to reduce the lateral runout to specification. See BRAKE ROTOR ASSEMBLED LATERAL RUNOUT (LRO) CORRECTION - INDEXING .
- If the lateral runout exceeds the specification by more than 0.005 in. (0.127 mm), us an on-vehicle lathe in order to reduce the lateral runout to specification. See BRAKE ROTOR ASSEMBLED LATERAL RUNOUT (LRO) CORRECTION - ON-VEHICLE LATHE .
NOTE:
Brake rotor assembled lateral runout greater than the specification can cause brake pulsation.
