Brake Drums: Removal

  1. Release parking brake. Remove the 4 screws, the 2 clips and lift up the console. See Figure .
  2. Loosen the park brake cable lock nut. See Figure .
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
  4. Remove the locking washers, if equipped, from the wheel studs.
  5. Remove the drum from the axle hub. If the drum cannot be removed by hand, install two 8 mm bolts into the drum. Tightening the bolts will force the drum off the hub.
