Drum Brake Hardware Inspection

Visually inspect the drum brake system hold-down springs and pins for the following:

• Excessive Corrosion
• Damaged Or Bent Locating Pins
• Weak Spring Tension

Visually inspect the return springs for the following:

• Excessive Corrosion
• Excessive Stretching
• Broken Hook Ends
• Twisting Or Binding

Visually inspect the strut, the strut spring, and the pawl lever for the following:

• Excessive Corrosion
• Damage
• Binding

If any of the conditions listed were found, the drum brake system hardware requires replacement.
