Test D: Braking Action Uneven (Front To Rear)

  1. If sent here from SYMPTOM INDEX  table, go to next step. If not sent here from SYMPTOM INDEX  table, perform HYDRAULIC BRAKE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  2. Inspect the suspension system for proper operation. See appropriate FRONT and REAR SUSPENSION articles in SUSPENSION. If problem was found and corrected, go to step  7. If problem was not found, go to next step.
  3. Inspect the hydraulic brake system for proper operation. See HYDRAULIC SYSTEM TEST  under SYSTEM TESTS. If problem was found and corrected, go to step  7. If problem was not found, go to next step.
  4. Inspect the disc brake system for proper operation. See DISC BRAKE SYSTEM TEST  under SYSTEM TESTS. If problem was found and corrected, go to step  7. If problem was not found, go to next step.
  5. Inspect the drum brake system for proper operation. See DRUM BRAKE SYSTEM TEST  under SYSTEM TESTS. If problem was found and corrected, go to step  7. If problem was not found, go to next step.
  6. Inspect the brake assist system for proper operation. See BRAKE ASSIST SYSTEM TEST  under SYSTEM TESTS. If problem was found and corrected, go to next step. If problem was not found, perform HYDRAULIC BRAKE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  7. Road test the vehicle in order to confirm proper operation. See VEHICLE ROAD TEST  under TROUBLE SHOOTING. If the problem is still present, go to step  2. If problem is not found, system is okay.
