Rear Park Brake Cable (Right): Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Disconnect the right rear park brake cable from the cable connector.
  2. Disconnect the right rear park brake cable from the bracket using the Parking Brake Cable Release Tool (J-37043).
  3. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Remove the brake drum. See BRAKE DRUM . Remove the brake shoes. See BRAKE SHOES .
  4. Disconnect the cable from the parking brake lever. See Figure. Remove the cable from the backing plate using the parking brake cable release tool.
