Rear Brake Hose: Installation

  1. Assemble the 2 copper brake hose gaskets and the rear brake hose banjo bolt to the brake hose. See Figure.
  2. Install the rear brake hose banjo bolt, copper gaskets and brake hose to the wheel cylinder. Tighten the rear brake hose banjo bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Install the rear brake hose bracket retaining bolt to the rear brake hose bracket. See Figure. Tighten the retaining bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Install the brake hose to the bracket. Install the retainer clip to the brake hose.
  5. Remove the rubber cap or plug from the exposed brake pipe end and install the rear brake pipe to the brake hose. Tighten the fitting to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Bleed the brake hydraulic system. See MANUAL BLEEDING  or PRESSURE BLEEDING  under BLEEDING, FILLING & FLUSHING BRAKE SYSTEM.
  7. Install the rear wheel and tire assembly. Tighten nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  8. Visually inspect that the hose does not make contact with any part of the suspension. If the hose makes contact, remove the hose and correct the condition. Lower the vehicle.
