Proportioning Valve: Installation
- Install the proportioning valve assembly and the 2 proportioning valve bracket bolts. See Figure. Tighten the 2 proportioning valve bracket bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the left inner fender shield.
- Position the front fender liner to the front fender. Install the push-in retainers to the front fender liner.
- Install the front fender liner to front fender bolts. See Figure. Tighten the bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the front fender liner to front bumper fascia bolts. Tighten the bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Position the mud flap to the front fender, if equipped.
- Install the front mud flap screws. Tighten the screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Lower the vehicle.
- Lower the vehicle.NOTE: Make sure brake pipes are correctly connected to brake pressure modulator valve. If brake pipes are switched by mistake, wheel lockup will occur and personal injury may result. The only 2 ways this condition can be detected are by using a scan tool or by doing an anti-lock stop.
- Remove the caps from the 4 brake pipes and install the 4 brake pipes to the proportioning valve. See Figure.
- Remove the caps from the 2 brake pipes and install the 2 brake pipes to the proportioning valve. Tighten all brake pipe fittings to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the battery tray. Tighten the battery tray bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Bleed the brake system. See MANUAL BLEEDING or PRESSURE BLEEDING under BLEEDING, FILLING & FLUSHING BRAKE SYSTEM.
