Front Brake Hose: Removal
- Raise the vehicle. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
- Remove all dirt and foreign material from the brake hose and pipe fittings.
- Clean the brake hose bolt at the brake caliper with denatured alcohol.
- Dry the brake caliper assembly using non-lubrucated, filtered air.
- Using a backup wrench, disconnect the brake hose and brake pipe fitting.
- Remove the brake pipe from the brake hose.
- Install a rubber cap or plug on the brake pipe fitting.
- Remove the brake hose retaining bolt from the frame.
- Remove the brake hose bolt from the brake caliper assembly.
- Remove the brake hose from the vehicle.
- Remove and discard the metal/copper, gaskets.
NOTE:
Installing a rubber cap or plug the exposed brake pipe fitting ends will prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
NOTE:
The metal gaskets maybe stuck to either the brake caliper or the brake hose end. Ensure that these gaskets are remove from the brake hose end and the brake caliper.
