Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the console shift lever bezel. Refer to Console Shift Lever Bezel Replacement (Oldsmobile) .
  2. Remove the lower trim plate retaining screws.

  3. Starting at the bottom of the trim plate, release the 2 lower retaining clips and the 2 intermediate retaining clips.
  4. Release the 3 upper retaining clips.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connectors as necessary.
  6. If replacing the trim plate, perform the following steps:
    1. Remove the rear windshield wiper switch. Refer to WIPER/WASHER SWITCH REPLACEMENT - REAR in Wiper/Washer Systems.
    2. If equipped, remove the cigar lighter and 12-volt power supply. Refer to Cigar Lighter Housing or 12 Volt Accessory Power Receptacle Replacement .
