Master Cylinder: Removal

  1. Disconnect the reservoir fluid level connector. See Figure .
  2. Clean the reservoir and the master cylinder.
  3. Remove the reservoir cap. See Fig 1 .
  4. Remove the reservoir diaphragm.
  5. Remove the fluid with a syringe.
  6. Remove the reservoir screw, or remove the reservoir pin using a drift.
  7. Remove the reservoir.
  8. On models equipped with ABS, disconnect the brake pipes from the proportioning valve. See Fig 2 .
  9. On all models, disconnect the brake pipes from the master cylinder.
  10. Remove the nuts that retain the master cylinder to the brake booster.
  11. Remove master cylinder from brake booster.
