Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the left body hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to TRIM REPLACEMENT -- HINGE PILLAR .
  2. Unclip and remove the left front side door sill trim plate (1).

  3. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
    • The 2 retainers (4)
    • The footrest (5)

  4. Remove the front floor front console. Refer to CONSOLE REPLACEMENT - Front Floor .
  5. Remove the plastic retainer (3) which secures the floor panel carpet to the bulkhead.
  6. Remove the 2 plastic retainers (2) which secure the floor panel carpet to the left I/P center support brace (1).

  8. Remove the left front seat assembly. Refer to SEAT REPLACEMENT -- FRONT BUCKET in Seats.
  9. Position the floor panel carpet back in order to the access the fuel/rear compartment release handle housing.
  10. Remove the left rear floor air outlet duct from the vehicle.
  11. Remove the following components from the floor panel:
    • The mounting bolt
    • The fuel/rear compartment release handle housing
  12. Remove the following components from the housing:
    • The fuel filler door lock release cable
    • The rear compartment lid lock release cable
  13. Remove the fuel/rear compartment release handle housing from the vehicle.
