Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the brake hose union bolt (1). Place a container beneath the brake hose in order to catch escaping brake fluid.
  4. Disconnect the brake hose.

  5. Remove the 2 caliper pin bolts (1).

  7. Remove the caliper from caliper bracket.
  8. Inspect the following components for corrosion and wear. Replace any part if necessary:
    • The mounting bolts
    • The caliper pins
    • The dust boots
  9. Remove the brake pads, insulators, retainers, and the wear indicator from the caliper housing. Refer to Brake Pads Replacement .
