Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly from the vehicle. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the brake caliper housing (2) and the brake caliper bracket. Refer to Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement .
    NOTE: Use care in order to not damage the boot and the inner oil seal.
    NOTE: On vehicles equipped with ABS, use care to not damage the speed sensor rotor of the drive axle.

  4. Remove the brake rotor from the wheel hub.
  5. If you cannot remove the rotor by hand, install 2 8 N.m bolts into the rotor. Tightening the bolts will force the rotor off of the wheel hub.
