Installation Procedure
- Apply sealant at the rear main bearing cap and the engine block (1).
- Install the oil pan gasket.
- Install the oil pan. Install the oil pan retaining bolts.
- Install the oil pan retaining bolts. Tighten the oil pan retaining bolts to 25 N.m (18 ft lbs).
- Install the left oil pan side bolts. Tighten the oil pan side bolts to 50 N.m (37 ft lbs).
- Use the J 39505 in order to install the right oil pan side bolts. Tighten the oil pan side bolts to 50 N.m (37 ft lbs).
- Tighten the left side frame bolts. Tighten the bolts to 180 N.m (133 ft lbs).
- Install the right side frame bolts. Tighten the bolts to 180 N.m (133 ft lbs).
- Connect the right lower ball joint to the steering knuckle.
- Connect the right outer tie rod to the steering knuckle.
- Install the engine mount bracket with the engine mount to oil pan.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Use the J 28467-360 in order to lower the engine.
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
- Install the transaxle mount lower nuts.
- Install the engine mount lower nuts. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement .
- Install the transaxle brace to the oil pan.
- Install the starter motor.
- Install the oil level sensor wiring harness connection.
- Install the three-way catalytic converter pipe to the right exhaust manifold.
- Install the A/C compressor.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove J 28467-360, J 36462-A and J 28467-90A .
- Install the engine mount struts to the engine. Refer to Engine Mount Strut (Left) - Replacement and Engine Mount Strut (Right) - Replacement .
- Fill the engine with new engine oil.
- Connect the battery ground cable.
