Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Left  or Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Right .
  2. Remove the lower intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement - Lower .
  3. Remove the valve rocker arms and pushrods. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement .

  5. Remove the lifter guide bolts.
  6. Remove the lifter guide.
  7. IMPORTANT: Place the valve train parts in a rack in order to ensure that they are installed in the same location from which they were removed.
  8. Remove the lifters.
