Charge Indicator
Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) illuminates charge indicator in message center when following occurs:
- If PCM detects that generator output is less than 11 volts or more than 16 volts, IPC receives a class 2 message from PCM requesting illumination.
- IPC determines that system voltage is less than 11 volts or more than 16 volts when IPC receives a class 2 message from Body Control Module (BCM) indicating system voltage.
- When IPC performs displays test at start of each ignition cycle, indicator illuminates for approximately 3 seconds.
- Ignition is on, with engine off.
Along with charge indicator illumination, 4 chimes will sound when a charging system malfunction is detected.
