ABS Indicator

Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) illuminates ABS indicator when following occurs:

• If Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) detects a malfunction with anti-lock brake system, IPC receives a class 2 message from EBCM requesting illumination.
• When IPC performs displays test at start of each ignition cycle, indicator illuminates for approximately 3 seconds.
• IPC detects a loss of class 2 communications with EBCM.

If ABS indicator stays on longer than 3 seconds after engine is started, or if ABS indicator turns on and stays on when vehicle is being driven, stop vehicle and turn ignition switch to OFF position. System may be okay. By starting engine again, system and ABS indicator will reset.
