Park Brake Cables: Installation
- Install the front cable through the vehicle. Install the rubber grommet by firmly pressing it into the cowl.
- Connect the cable to the lever retainer. Connect the front cable to the lever.
- Install the release handle and the cable. See PARK BRAKE RELEASE HANDLE ASSEMBLY

- Connect the front cable to the rear cables. Remove the pin from the lever. Move the lever to the FULL up position.
- Measure the threads on the equalizer. Adjust the threads to the following specifications:
- Passenger/Cargo to 0.511" (13 mm)
- Cutaway/Upfitters to 0.826" (21 mm)
- Verify that the vehicle will hold position with the brake lever depressed. If additional adjustments need to be made, see PARKING BRAKE ADJUSTMENT

- Install the rear cable to the vehicle. Connect the rear cable to the backing plate retainer. Connect the rear brake shoes to the backing plate.
- Connect the front cable to the rear cables.
- Remove the pin from the lever. See Figure
. Place the lever to the FULL up position.
- Measure the threads of the equalizer. Adjust the threads to the following specifications:
- Passenger/Cargo to 0.511" (13 mm)
- Cutaway/Upfitters to 0.826" (21 mm)
- Verify that the vehicle will hold the position with the brake lever depressed. If additional adjustments need to be made, see PARKING BRAKE ADJUSTMENT
