Drum Brake Hardware Inspection

  1. Visually Inspect The Drum Brake System Return Springs For The Following:
    • Excessive Corrosion
    • Damaged Or Bent Locating Pins
    • Broken Spring Coils
    • Damaged Retaining Cups
    See Figure .
  2. Visually Inspect The Hold-Down Springs For The Following:
    • Excessive Corrosion
    • Excessive Stretching
    • Broken Hook Ends
    • Twisting Or Binding
    See Figure .
  3. If Any Of The Conditions Listed Were Found, The Drum Brake System Hardware Requires Replacement.
