Lighting Systems Diagnostic System Check

  1. Retrieve and display DTCs by entering Body Control Module (BCM) using SECURITY indicator diagnostic mode. If diagnostic mode is entered and DTCs are retrieved, go to next step. If diagnostic mode cannot be entered, perform TEST C: CANNOT ENTER BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTICS under SYSTEM TESTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - CAMARO & FIREBIRD article.
  2. If DTCs 12 and 55 are retrieved, go to next step. If DTCs 12 and 55 are not retrieved, perform TEST C: CANNOT ENTER BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTICS under SYSTEM TESTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - CAMARO & FIREBIRD article.
  3. If DTCs 21/31 or DTCs 22/32 are not retrieved, go to next step. If DTCs 21/31 or DTCs 22/32 are retrieved, perform appropriate test. See BODY CONTROL MODULES - CAMARO & FIREBIRD article.
  4. If any other DTCs are retrieved, perform appropriate test in accordance with DTC retrieved. See BODY CONTROL MODULES - CAMARO & FIREBIRD article. If other DTCs are not retrieved, repair courtesy lights as necessary. See appropriate ILLUMINATION/INTERIOR LIGHTS article.
