Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Sierra and 2002 Chevrolet Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the park brake shoe to the actuator
  2. Install the park brake shoe retaining clip and retaining clip bolt. Tighten the bolt to 3 N.m (25 lb in).
  3. Install the park brake assembly and backing plate to the steering knuckle
  4. Install the wheel bearing. Refer to WHEEL HUB & BEARING REPLACEMENT in Rear Wheel Steering

  5. Install the park brake cable to the park brake actuator lever

  6. Install the rear park brake bracket bolt. Tighten the bolt to 61 N.m (45 lb ft).

  7. Install the park brake cable to the equalizer bar.
  8. Adjust the park brake shoe. Refer to Parking Brake Adjustment 
  9. Install the tire and wheel assembly
  10. Lower the vehicle
