Steering Column Park Lock Solenoid (Floor Shift): Removal
- Remove the tilt knob. Use a small screwdriver to pull the filler plug out of the bottom of the lower trim cover. See Figure. Use the screwdriver to push up on the manual override of the electric park lock (1). See Figure.
- Turn the key to the LOCK position. Remove the key. Remove the 2 pan head tapping screws (1) from the lower trim cover (2). See Figure. Remove the lower trim cover (2) from the upper trim cover. See Figure.
- Tilt the lower trim cover down. Slide the lower trim cover backward in order to disengage the locking tabs. Remove the 2 Torx® head screws (1) from the upper trim cover (2). See Figure.
- Remove the upper trim cover (2) from the steering column. Remove the black connector (2) from the electric park lock (3). See Figure. Remove the Torx® head screw (1) from the electric park lock (3). See Figure.
- Press on the electric park lock (2) with a small screwdriver and at the same time pull the electric park lock (2) out of the electronic lock module assembly (1).
