Removal (RWD)

Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
Install the transmission jack to the transmission and support the transmission.
Disconnect the transmission wiring harness from the transmission support, if necessary.
On 2.2L models, remove the transmission mount-to-transmission support stud nut. See Fig 1.
On 4.3L pickups and utilities, remove the transmission mount-to-transmission support stud nut. See Fig 2.
On 2.2L models, remove the catalytic converter hanger bracket from the transmission support mounting bolts, if necessary. See Fig 3.
On 4.3L models, remove the catalytic converter hanger bracket from the transmission support mounting bolts, if necessary. See Fig 4.
On 2.2L models, remove the transmission support-to-frame nuts, bolts and reinforcement. See Fig 5.
On 4.3L models, remove the transmission support-to-frame nuts, bolts and reinforcement. See Fig 6.
On utilities, remove the transmission support-to-frame nuts, bolts and reinforcements. See Fig 7.
On all models, remove the transmission support.
