Installation (RWD)

  1. Install the transmission support.
  2. On utilities, install the transmission support-to-frame nuts, bolts and reinforcements. See Figure. Tighten the transmission support-to-frame nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. On 4.3L pickups, install the transmission support-to-frame nuts, bolts and reinforcement. See Figure. Tighten the transmission support-to-frame nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. On 2.2L models, install the transmission support-to-frame nuts, bolts and reinforcement. See Figure. Tighten the transmission support-to-frame nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. On 4.3L models, install the catalytic converter hanger bracket mounting bolts, if necessary, to the transmission support. See Figure. Tighten catalytic converter hanger bracket-to-transmission support mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. On 2.2L models, install the catalytic converter hanger bracket mounting bolts, if necessary, to the transmission support. See Figure. Tighten catalytic converter hanger bracket to the transmission support mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. On 4.3L pickups, install the transmission mount to the transmission support stud nut. See Figure. Tighten the transmission mount to the transmission support stud to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  8. On 2.2L pickups, install the transmission mount to the transmission support nut. See Figure. Tighten the transmission mount to the transmission support nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  9. On all models, connect the transmission wiring harness to the transmission support, if necessary.
  10. Remove the transmission jack from the transmission.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
