Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to SIR CAUTION .
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING SYSTEM .
  2. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to KNEE BOLSTER REPLACEMENT .
  3. Ensure the turn signal lever on the multifunction switch is in the neutral position or the off position.
  4. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to KNEE BOLSTER REPLACEMENT .
  5. Loosen the steering column bracket nuts.
  6. Remove the steering column upper and lower trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement - On Vehicle .
  7. Disconnect the steering column bulkhead electrical connector from the vehicle wire harness.

  9. Remove the wire harness straps from the steering column wire harness.

  10. Disconnect the gray and the black connectors (2) of the switch from the column bulkhead electrical connector (1).
  11. Remove the multifunction, turn signal, and hazard switch retaining screws.
  12. Remove the multifunction, turn signal, and hazard switch from the steering column.
