Removal & Installation (Automatic Transmission)

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  2. Remove shift handle retaining clip from shift handle. Remove shift handle. Open center console lid. Remove center console compartment. Remove transmission select switch, if equipped. Remove nuts from rear of center console.
  3. Remove screws from front of center console. Remove center console. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten screws and nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system.
