Mode Door Actuator: Removal

  1. Remove the knee bolster. Remove the right side driver knee bolster bracket from the steering column bracket and the intermediate bracket. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANELS article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. Disconnect the vacuum connectors from the mode actuator. See Figure.
  2. Remove the actuator rod retaining clip. Remove the actuator rod from the mode door lever. Firmly pull on the mode actuator in order to remove the actuator from the HVAC module. See Figure.
