Suction Screen

NOTE: Tool Required: Suction Screen Kit (J-44551).
NOTE: Suction screens are intended to be installed in the suction hose after a major compressor failure.
  1. Insert Suction Screen Kit Sizing Tool into the suction hose to select the correct size suction screen. See Fig 1. Insert the suction screen into the compressor end of the suction hose. Install the correct Mandrel to Suction Screen Kit. See Fig 2.
  2. Install the Suction Screen Kit Screen Installation Tool over the end of the suction hose and the suction screen. Correct placement of Suction Screen Kit Tools are critical. See Fig 3. Tighten the forcing screw of Suction Screen Kit. The suction screen is fully installed when the screen is flush with the end of the suction hose fitting.
  3. Remove the Suction Screen Kit Suction Screen Tool from the suction hose. After a major compressor failure, you should also install an A/C refrigerant filter. See REFRIGERANT FILTER . Install the Suction Screen Kit Suction Screen Notification Label. Recharge system. See RECOVERY, EVACUATING & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES. Leak test all related fittings. See LEAK TESTING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING.
