Evaporator Tube: Removal

  1. Remove the battery. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. See RECOVERY, EVACUATING & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING.
  2. Remove the evaporator tube retaining screw. Remove the evaporator tube clamp from the accumulator. See Fig 1. Remove the evaporator tube from the evaporator. Remove the O-ring seal and discard.
  3. Remove the air intake resonator (2.2L models) or lower radiator hose (4.3L models). Remove the evaporator tube from the condenser. Remove the O-ring seal.
