Installation Procedure

Position J 36502-2A over the output shaft.

Using J 36502 install the rear output shaft seal.

Remove J 36502-2A from the output shaft.

Fill the space between the seal lips with grease GM P/N 1052497 or equivalent.

Install the transfer case. Refer to TRANSFER CASE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT in TRANSFER CASE article.
Check the transmission oil level. Refer to FLUID REPLACEMENT .
Lower the vehicle.
