Rear Oil Seal: Removal

Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the rear propeller shaft. See appropriate DRIVE SHAFTS & UNIVERSAL JOINTS article in DRIVE AXLES. Remove the rear oil seal from the rear case using the slide hammer and the universal seal remover. See Figure. Remove the rear oil seal from the extension housing.
