Transfer Case

NOTE:
When servicing the transfer case, use ONLY hand tools when removing the fill or drain plugs. If the drain or fill plugs are damaged and need to be replaced, use only replacement plugs that are made from aluminum.
Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the transfer case shield from the vehicle. Place drain pan under the vehicle. Remove the transfer case fill plug. Remove the transfer case drain plug. Allow fluid to drain from transfer case. Install the transfer case drain plug and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
Fill transfer case with appropriate fluid until even with bottom of fill plug hole. See RECOMMENDED FLUIDS and CHECKING FLUID LEVELS .
Install the transfer case fill plug and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install the transfer case shield. Lower the vehicle.
