Checking Fluid Levels: Transmission

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Ensure the vehicle is level. Clean any dirt from around the fill plug. Remove the transmission fill plug from the transmission. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 .
  2. Ensure transmission fluid level is even with the bottom of the fill plug hole. Add appropriate fluid, if necessary. See RECOMMENDED FLUIDS .
  3. Install the transmission fill plug and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Lower the vehicle.
