Clutch Pedal Spongy: Notes

- Did you review the clutch symptom operations and perform the necessary inspections? If yes, go to next step. If no, see DIAGNOSTIC STARTING POINT .
- Inspect the fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir. Is the fluid level low? If yes, go to next step. If no, system is okay.
- Fill the reservoir with clean brake fluid. Is the reservoir properly filled? If yes, go to next step.
- Bleed the clutch hydraulic system. See BLEEDING . Does the clutch system operate properly? If yes, system is okay. If no, go to next step.
- Inspect the clutch master cylinder. Is the master cylinder faulty? If yes, go to next step. If no, system is okay.
- Replace the clutch master cylinder. See CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER & RESERVOIR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Does the clutch operate properly? If yes, system is okay. If no, go to next step.
- Remove the transmission. See TRANSMISSION under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Inspect the concentric slave cylinder. Is the concentric slave cylinder faulty? If yes, go to next step. If no, system is okay.
- Replace the concentric slave cylinder. See CONCENTRIC SLAVE (ACTUATOR) CYLINDER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Did you find and repair the condition? If yes, go to next step. If no, see DIAGNOSTIC AIDS .
- Install the transmission. See TRANSMISSION under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
