Clutch Pedal Hard To Push: Notes

  1. Did you review the clutch symptom operations and perform the necessary inspections? If yes, go to next step. If no, see DIAGNOSTIC STARTING POINT .
  2. Inspect the clutch pedal to ensure that it is properly lubricated. Does the clutch pedal need lubricating? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to step  4.
  3. Lubricate the clutch pedal. Is the pedal still hard to push? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to step  6.
  4. Inspect the clutch hydraulic line for blockage or crimping. Is the hydraulic line blocked or crimped? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to step  6.
  5. Replace the clutch hydraulic line. Did you find and repair the condition? If yes, system is okay. If no, go to next step.
  6. Inspect the clutch master cylinder for binding. Is the clutch master cylinder binding? If yes, go to next step. If no, system is okay.
  7. Replace the master cylinder. See CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER & RESERVOIR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Did you find and repair the condition? If yes, system is okay. If no, go to next step.
  8. Inspect the concentric slave cylinder for binding. Is the concentric slave cylinder binding? If yes, go to next step. If no, system is okay.
  9. Replace the concentric slave cylinder or release bearing. See CONCENTRIC SLAVE (ACTUATOR) CYLINDER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Did you find and repair the condition? If yes, system is okay. If no, go to next step.
  10. Inspect the clutch disc for wear. Is the clutch disc worn? If yes, go to next step. If no, system is okay.
  11. Replace the clutch disc. See CLUTCH ASSEMBLY & PILOT BEARING  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Did you find and repair the condition? If yes, go to next step. If no, see DIAGNOSTIC AIDS .
  12. Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
