Clutch Assembly & Pilot Bearing: Inspection

- Clean all components with water-dampened cloth to remove asbestos fibers. Clean clutch fork, bellhousing and ball stud with solvent. Release bearing is permanently packed with lubricant and should not be cleaned with solvent.
- Inspect all components for wear or damage. Inspect all contact surfaces for scoring, warping and damage. Check clutch disc runout. Runout must not exceed .020" (.508 mm). Inspect friction surfaces for excessive oil. Inspect splines for nicks, burrs and sliding fit. Replace as necessary.
