Control Valve Body Assembly

  1. Position main valve body assembly (4) on the work table so that the worm-track side is up.

  2. Align separator plate (2) with main valve body locating pins (3).
  3. Install separator plate (2).
  4. Align shift valve body assembly (1) with main valve body locating pins (3).
  5. Install the shift valve body assembly onto the separator plate.
  6. Position the control valve assembly on the work table so that the main valve body is facing up.
  7. Install fourteen bolts (1) retaining the valve bodies together.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (108 lb in).

  8. Position the control valve assembly on the work table so that the shift valve body is up.
  9. IMPORTANT:
    • O-ring (4) is slightly larger than O-ring (3).
    • P/N 29536833 is printed on shift solenoid C (5).

  10. Install solenoid O-ring (4) onto shift solenoid C (5).
  11. Install solenoid O-ring (3) onto shift solenoid C (5).
  12. Align shift solenoid C (5) so that the electrical connector points away from the nearest locating pin and is parallel to the separator plate as shown.
  13. Install the solenoid retainer (2).
  14. Position the control valve assembly on the work table so that main valve body (16) is facing up.

  15. IMPORTANT: P/N 29533074 is printed on the pressure control solenoid A.
  16. Install solenoid O-ring (14) onto pressure control solenoid A (15).
  17. IMPORTANT: P/N 29533075 is printed on the pressure control solenoid B.
  18. Install solenoid O-ring (8) onto pressure control solenoid B (9).
  19. Install spring (10), A trim valve (11), spring (12), and trim gain valve (13).
  20. Install spring (5), B trim valve (6) and trim gain valve (7).
  21. Install pressure control solenoid A (15) so that the electrical connection faces up. Do not seat the solenoid.
  22. Install pressure control solenoid B (9) so the electrical connection faces up. Do not seat the solenoid.
  23. Align 2 accumulator plugs (3) so that the spring bores face up.
  24. Install 2 accumulator plugs (3) and 2 accumulator springs (2).
  25. Push the pressure control solenoid A and B into the bores until the solenoids seat.
  26. Align the pressure control solenoid retaining bracket (1) with main valve body locating pin (4).
  27. Install the pressure control solenoid retaining bracket (1) so that the pressure control solenoids A and B, the accumulator plugs, and the accumulator springs are retained against the valve body.
  28. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

  29. Install 3 bolts (1) retaining the pressure control solenoid retaining bracket (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten bolts (1) to 12 N.m (108 lb in).

  30. IMPORTANT:
    • The solenoid O-rings are brown.
    • O-ring (3) is slightly larger than O-ring (2).
    • P/N 29536833 is printed on the shift solenoid E.

  31. Install solenoid O-ring (3) onto shift solenoid E (4).
  32. Install solenoid O-ring (2) onto shift solenoid E (4).
  33. Install shift solenoid E (4) so that the electrical connection faces up. seat the solenoid.
  34. Install solenoid retainer (1).
  35. IMPORTANT:
    • The solenoid O-rings are brown.
    • O-ring (3) is slightly larger than O-ring (2).
    • P/N 29536833 is printed on shift solenoid D.

  36. Install solenoid O-ring (3) onto shift solenoid D (4).
  37. Install solenoid O-ring (2) onto shift solenoid D (4).
  38. Install shift solenoid D (4) so that the electrical connection faces up. seat the solenoid.
  39. Install solenoid retainer (1).
  40. IMPORTANT:
    • The solenoid O-rings are brown.
    • O-ring (6) is slightly larger than O-ring (5).

  41. Install solenoid O-ring (6) onto the TCC PWM solenoid (7).
  42. Install solenoid O-ring (5) onto the TCC PWM solenoid (7).
  43. Install the TCC PWM spring (2).
  44. Install the TCC PWM valve (3)
  45. Install the TCC PWM sleeve (4)
  46. Align the TCC PWM solenoid (7) so that the electrical connection faces up.
  47. Install the TCC PWM solenoid. Seat the solenoid.
  48. Install solenoid retainer (1).
  49. Install the O-rings (3 and 4) onto the modulated main pressure solenoid G (6).

  50. Install the modulated main pressure solenoid G (6).
  51. Install the modulated main pressure solenoid G retainer (5) into the bottom of the valve body.
  52. Install the modulated main pressure solenoid G body assembly (2).
  53. IMPORTANT: Four bolts pass through the modulated main pressure solenoid G valve body to retain the control valve body assembly to the transmission case. Install these bolts when installing the control valve body assembly.
  54. Install the 2 bolts (1) retaining the modulated main pressure solenoid G valve body and the shift valve body to the main valve body.

    Tighten:  Tighten bolts to 12 N.m (108 lb in).

  55. Align the bolts holes and alignment tabs of the TFP switch (1) with the TFP switch holes in main valve body (3).

  56. Install TFP switch (1) onto main valve body (3).
  57. Install reverse signal pipe (2) onto the main valve body.
  58. IMPORTANT: Seven bolts retain the reverse signal pipe and the TFP switch.
    • Bolt (2) is slightly longer than the other bolts (1).
    • The TFP switch is retained by five bolts (1) and by bolt (2).
    • The reverse signal pipe is retained by bolt (1) and by bolt (2).

  59. Install six bolts (1) and one bolt (2) retaining the reverse signal pipe and the TFP switch to the main valve body.

    Tighten:  Tighten bolts (1) and bolt (2) to 12 N.m (108 lb in).
