Installation Procedure

- Install the upper ball joint (1) to the steering knuckle.
- Install the upper ball joint retaining bolts (2) and stud (1).
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 110 N.m (81 lb ft).
- Install the nut (1) retaining the upper ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use the J 44664
(2) in order to tighten the joint.
Tighten: Tighten the upper ball joint to the steering knuckle nut to 200 N.m (147 lb ft).
- Install the bracket (7) to the axle.
- Install the bolt (8) and nut (2) retaining the bracket to the axle.
Tighten: Tighten the bolt and nut to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the bolt (4) retaining the brake hose bracket (3) to the axle.
Tighten: Tighten the brake hose bracket retaining bolt to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
- Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Perform a four wheel alignment. Refer to Measuring Wheel Alignment (w/Rear Wheel Steering) or Measuring Wheel Alignment (w/o Rear Wheel Steering) in Wheel Alignment.
