Removal Procedure

- Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
- Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
- Remove the wheel hub and bearing. Refer to Wheel Hub and Bearing Replacement .
- Remove the upper ball joint. Refer to Upper Ball Joint Replacement .
- Remove the lower ball joint. Refer to Lower Ball Joint Replacement .
- Remove the outer tie rod retaining nut and bracket (2).
- Disconnect the outer tie rod from the steering knuckle using the J 24319-B (1).
- Remove the park brake cable retaining bolt (3) from the steering knuckle.
- Remove the steering knuckle (2) from the vehicle.
